WABA to start this month.

The ABA recently announced that the Womens American Basketball Association (WABA) will be starting this month.

In a press release, WABA CEO Sonya Nichols said “I’m excited that we have a sold core group of teams ready to compete and offer so many women the opportunity to play the sport they love at the professional level”. She went on to say “I am grateful to Joe Newman to sticking with this league and believing in me to get this up and running”.

ABA CEO Joe Newman said “The WABA is very important to women and minorities and I want to continue to offer a platform for so  many deserving individuals”. The leagues inaugural season will consist of six teams spread out across the East, Midwest and West Coast areas.

The teams for the inaugural year are:

New England Falcons

Chicago Lady Steam

Philadelphia Love

Flint Monarchs

Seattle Lakewood Lady Panthers
